Deckbuilding and card games have flourished in recent years. In an attempt to stand out, the French studio Alkemi injects an important narrative component into forest, his new project planned for PC and Switch. Unveiled earlier in the year, the title now finds a release date for the start of the school year. Take out your diary, the cards will fall.
A story that is being built
Nantes from Alkemi give us an appointment in a few weeks for the arrival of their game. Foretales will mix card game and narrative adventure where we play a man named Volepain who is able to predict tragic events linked to a sad prophecy. He and his group will then try to thwart disasters, by prioritizing certain missions: it’s up to you to choose the best plot and prevent a tragic outcome.
A promising structure, as we mentioned in our overview of the game, which allows you to shape your game according to your decisions. To discover all this, you will have to wait until September 15, 2022, when forest will be released on Steam and Nintendo Switch. It will retail for €19.99 digitally or €23.99 if you opt for the Deluxe Edition, adding the soundtrack and a digital artbook.
