Behavior Interactive officially announced Project W for Dead by Daylight in a separate showcase today. This is the second Resident Evil chapter for the long-running horror franchise.
Behavior Interactive will soon release the second part of the collaboration with the cult series Resident Evil in Dead by Daylight. The good piece will then be called “Dead by Daylight – Resident Evil: Project W”, as was officially confirmed today.
Projeckt W will feature a new killer, villain Albert Wesker. They are joined by two new survivors, namely Ada Wong and Rebecca Chambers. You can also expect a revamped map of the Raccoon City Police Station.
In June 2021, Behavior Interactive teamed up with Capcom for the first time to bring iconic Resident Evil characters Nemesis, Jill Valentine and Leon S. Kennedy to life in Dead by Daylight, creating one of the game’s most popular chapters. This was also the first time zombies were introduced to the game as the Nemesis’ AI assistants. So now, with Project W, you’re building on that experience.
Behavior officially comments on the new characters as follows:
The unpredictable Ada Wong is an enigma; her true goal is as elusive as she is. Her survival skills nonetheless make her a valuable ally – but only when their interests are aligned. Rebecca Chambers is a talented and gifted young woman who joined the STARS Bravo team at the age of 18 as a medic. Rebecca is an asset on any mission and will do anything to save a teammate in distress – even if it means risking her own life.
Anyone who prefers to be a killer can look forward to embodying Resident Evil’s very own Albert Wesker. A visionary as brilliant as he was ruthless, he was a high-ranking official at the Umbrella Corporation who had greater ambitions for his own kind. Believing that humanity is at an impasse, he injected himself with the prototype virus to transcend the limits of mortality. Endowed with superhuman strength and a desire to root out the weak, he created a powerful viral weapon: Uroboros. Wesker’s Contagious Dive allows him to charge forward at high speed to grab Survivors and infect them with the Uroboros. These can help themselves with First Aid Spray, which is scattered throughout the map – albeit in limited supply and merely delaying the inevitable.
As for the map overhaul, going forward, the Raccoon City Police Station will be split into two separate maps that will be built around the West Wing and East Wing. The Main Hall is retained in its original layout on both maps. With additional access to the front exterior, it will be easier to take the action outside. Also, each version of the map features a different layout of the rooms.
There is not yet an exact release date for the new chapter; We will keep you up to date!
