The Counter-Strike scene is looking to Cologne: After a three-year break, the world’s best will meet in mid-July for the IEM Cologne 2022 in the Lanxess Arena.
From July 5th, 24 of the world’s best will be fighting Counter Strike: Global Offensiveteams to take part in the play-offs, which will then be played in front of a live audience at the Lanxess Arena in Cologne on the weekend of July 15-17, 2022. The ESL is organizing this prestigious tournament for the sixth time. Due to the pandemic, two studio productions were recently required, which were broadcast online.
The prize money is $1 million, currently around €960,000.
The participating teams include local heroes such as BIG Berlin as well as MOUZ and Sprout. Also in attendance are defending champions Natus Vincere, IEM Dallas winners Cloud9 and FaZe Clan, winners of IEM Katowice.
