Off to the grill. Chicken dinner awaits: PUBG: Battlegrounds update 19.1 adds a wearable enemy detector, the folded shield and more equipment.

KRAFTON, Inc. today announced the next major content update for PUBG: Battlegrounds with Update 19.1. In the update, coming August 10th for PC and August 18th for consoles, players will be able to try out the new weapon MP9, speed through the streets in the Pillar Security car with sirens blaring and the Blauer tactical gear -Scan chip detector for opponents.

Players will also have access to the brand new “Folded Shield” and can revisit the Haven map to face off against familiar enemies from the popular Assassin’s Creed franchise.

Abstergo Industries conquers Haven
As part of the collaboration between PUBG: Battlegrounds and Assassin’s Creed, players can discover a variety of themed content and items on the Haven map, which is available again for the first time since Season 16.

Abstergo Industries has taken over one of the map’s main buildings, complete with a hidden Animus machine and strategically placed “Leap of Faith” ledges on the building’s roof. In addition, the partnership allows players to earn themed cosmetic rewards as they play, including new costumes, bag skins, a parachute skin, an emote, and more.

Below is a detailed overview of all the adjustments introduced with Update 19.1. There is more information here in the full patch notes. Players who want to try out the new content can do so starting today on the PC Test Server.

New Items

  • MP9: Available on the Deston map, the MP9 is the first fully automatic SMG to use the widely available and practical 9mm ammunition. It’s suitable for players who like guns like the P90 but prefer something more portable with lots of ammo. Although it has a slightly lower effective range, rate of fire, and damage than the P90, it’s an excellent alternative for players who want more options similar to the P90.
  • Folded Shield: For many Battlegrounds-Players have had a problem hitting opponents and not having proper cover for years. Therefore, there will be a new item in 19.1 that fixes this very issue. Found on every map, the folded shield allows players mobile cover that can be easily carried, deployed, and hidden at will. The shield has a strength of 1500 hp and must be destroyed by enemies before the player behind it can be hit.
  • Blue chip detector: This new tactical gear utilizes the player’s primary weapon slot and allows them to search for enemies within 100 meters of their character. The 12 closest opponents are shown as dots on the map. Their position is adjusted every time the screen refreshes, and the detector only plays sounds audible to the user when it detects enemy movement. The Blue Chip Detector even detects elevation changes, letting the player know if the tracked target is above or below them.
  • New vehicle – Pillar Security Car: With a top speed of 130 km/h and controllable headlights and sirens, this new vehicle allows players to recreate fast-paced movie chase scenes on the Deston map. In addition, one can find high-quality equipment in the trunk of the vehicle. So if players see a Pillar Security Car nearby, be sure to get in to get a bonus.

Additionally, Update 19.1 introduces adjustments to item spawn rate on Sanhok, bug fixes when switching bots from water to land, improvements to base and AI training, and the new Season 19 rankings and Survivor Pass.
