Tesla’s deliveries of electric vehicles decreased during the second quarter compared with the first. This is mainly due to the fact that their factory in China has been forced to close for several weeks, the company announced on Saturday.
The electric car giant delivered 254,695 cars from April to June. Compared to the same period the year before, it is an increase of 27 percent – but compared to the first quarter of 2022, it is a decrease of 18 percent, the first time deliveries have declined so much in two years.
The loss was greater than expected. Analysts had expected 264,000 deliveries, according to a compilation from the financial data company Factset.
Other players in the car industry are also losing ground. General Motors and Toyota reduced their sales during the second quarter by 15 and 23 percent, respectively, compared with the same period last year.
