Are you going on vacation soon and want to be sure not to forget anything? That’s good: the developer Quentin Machard has recently offered CheckPack, an iOS app that simplifies the preparation of your bag before departure. If the concept of an app to make lists is not particularly original, the program has several advantages to assert compared to a simple reminder in Notes or on paper.

First of all, you can create several models: one for a week in the countryside, a second for a long weekend of hiking, a third for your sports business… It is then possible to add a list ” essentials”, objects to bring in all circumstances that it will not be necessary to retype each time (chargers, keys, medication, etc.). Obviously, you can “check off” the products as you fill your suitcase.

CheckPack also includes a community aspect: it is possible to share its lists with other users and to download ready-made ones. This saves time, but also allows you to think of objects that you might have forgotten. Some thematic lists are original (toolbox, first aid kit, etc.) and may inspire some travellers.

CheckPack is available for free on iPhone and iPad without any in-app purchase. Quentin Machard tells us that in the future, he plans to monetize his project by adding “premium” features or using lists sponsored by brands specializing in their fields (cycling, camping, vanlife, diving, etc.). ). Personal lists do not leave the phone while public ones are stored on servers in Europe. User data is not used as a source of revenue, and the app requires at least iOS 11 to run.
