The strategy is now well known: SFR and Bouygues Telecom market mobile plans at knockdown prices, then they automatically increase customer bills by a few euros after a while. To prevent these subscribers free of any commitment from leaving, the operators add a little data, but that’s not all. Since the beginning of the year, they sometimes use an additional “bonus” to retain their customers: 5G.
In Februarysubscribers to a package SFR RED 4G 20 GB at €5/month was offered an increase of €3/month for 10 GB more and 5G compatibility. They had the possibility of refusing this offer (you still have to see the email in time), which is not always the case.
More recently, it is a customer of a package B&You 4G 300 GB at €13.99/month which was imposed an increase of €3/month for an additional 30 GB and 5G compatibility.
And go, it evolves again and again and again, long live the “lifetime” packages pic.twitter.com/N3xEnqYuGD

The additional gigabytes provided by the operators on the occasion of price increases are very often, if not always, superfluous. With 5G, SFR and Bouygues Telecom are deploying another argument that may resonate with the most tech-savvy. This 5G “bonus” is not systematic, the operators adjust their increases according to the packages subscribed.
Meanwhile, Sosh still doesn’t know 5G.
Sosh less in a hurry to add 5G to its offers than 4G in its time
