I had the opportunity to ask a few questions by email to Nisqy, the new Mad Lions midlaner, currently at the top of the LEC.

You were forced to take a break during the Spring Split 2022. This is the first time you haven’t played in a split since joining Fnatic Academy in late 2016. Now that that break is over, is- what do you think it has been positive for you? Or do you regret not having been able to directly sign a new contract last November?

I wanted to return to competition, but not in any team. The break did me good on a personal and professional level. This allowed me to do more personal streams so I could grow my community. I was also able to take a break from the fairly hectic pace of the competition.

Mad Lions, two-time winner in 2021, did not qualify for the 2022 Spring Split LEC play-offs. How was the team’s mood when you arrived after this big failure?

They were all disappointed, which is normal, but they were able to forget this failure quickly enough to focus on the future, the Summer Split and qualifying for the Worlds.

Each team generally has its own partnerships in terms of peripherals (headphones in particular). Is it difficult to have to adapt to these new peripherals after a team change, like the one you just experienced?

The adaptation to the new equipment provided by EPOS. The helmet (H6PRO) is really very comfortable and has a very nice design. Its comfort allows you to play for a long time and the customizable sound for the game with the external sound card GSX 300 makes the experience very pleasant. In general, I really like the EPOS brand.

Can you tell us more about the audio devices you use at Mad Lions?

We use the EPOS headsets during our workouts. It is very usual for tournaments to provide standard equipment which must be used by all players and therefore we unfortunately only play with the equipment provided by the organizers for the competitions.

On the other hand, our practices can be much longer than the time we actually spend on stage for a match. It is therefore very important to have access to quality and comfortable equipment over time during these sessions and which allow us to give the best in optimal conditions so that we can do the same when they are less so.

More generally, do you use the same headset for all your practices related to video games (training, matches, streams, any other games in your free time, etc.) or do you use different equipment? within Mad Lions and at home?

At home, we have the same H6PRO headphones and external sound card available to us as at the training center, for our personal use. And even though I don’t always use headphones, I really like the sleek design and comfort of the headphones. Besides, the black version goes very well with the setup I have at home and it’s always a pleasure to use it.

Can you tell us about the importance of headphones in your practice as a professional League of Legends player? How does this affect your performance, concretely?

It is very important to be able to get along well. Communication plays a key role in the professional practice of League of Legends. It is also very important that the material is comfortable given that we wear our helmet 5 to 8 hours a day, at a minimum. And EPOS helmets are very comfortable, so that’s a really good thing. The microphone also plays an important role. After getting the H6PRO headsets from EPOS, I could see a real difference in the clarity of our communications with each other. And this good transmission of information in the game is crucial, because even if we are next to each other, we don’t really get along. It’s really a very important tool for us.

What are your goals for the Summer Split?

Get the best possible result in the Summer Split to be able to qualify for the Worlds.
