Venturous and the editor Ratalaika Games present to us today a unique new experience for the Nintendo Switch and competing consoles: Travel. Expected August 12, 2021 at a price of €14.99 on the eShop, the title invites us to experience a side-scrolling adventure on an unknown planet with varied and magnificent environments. To give you an idea of what awaits you, we let you discover the game trailer below.
A long forgotten past
Billed as a side-scrolling adventure game, Voyage offers so much more than that with its ever-changing aesthetics and settings. It follows two survivors who find themselves on an unknown planet. Their journey, whether you decide to play alone or cooperatively, will be made up of many obstacles that will prevent them from moving forward. Throughout their journey, they will lift the veil on a mystery of the past and three stories are told simultaneously in Voyage: the “gameplay” (the voyage itself), the “statutory scenes” (which are the personal memories of the big sisters ) and finally the “murals” (which tell the story of the planet and the people who lived there).
2 becomes 1
When playing Voyage in single-player mode, as opposed to two-player co-op mode, one of the game’s two protagonists acts as an AI companion, just like playing the game with a friend. You can choose which of the characters to control at any time, interact with objects and climb together, tell you to follow or stay put, point at you, and even kiss each other. Many objectives along the journey require cooperation between two characters, such as pushing pillars, moving objects, and helping each other by climbing. Additionally, the shared exploration of the game also plays a part in the storytelling itself. Whether you decide to play solo or co-op, the journey will unfold around two survivors searching for answers, to solve a mystery and find a way home.
home together.
