Xiaomi presented a whole bunch of devices: three smartphones, one router, a laptop and a fitness tracker. It was very long, boring, but still interesting in places.
Xiaomi 12S and 12S Pro
Two smartphones have become a continuation of the Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro shown six months ago. In fact, the main update is the new system-on-a-chip Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1.
However, all the “esks” placed the word Leica on their camera blocks:
Leica reportedly made the optics and also helped set up the camera software.
There is another difference: Xiaomi 12S received exactly the same wide-angle camera module as its older brother, the Sony IMX707. Previously, it was only in Xiaomi 12 Pro.
And this is what both models look like (first 12S, and then 12S Pro):
Smartphones will be delivered in four versions. Nothing is known about sales outside of China, so here are the prices in China:

Xiaomi 12S Ultra
But this new one is much more interesting. Let’s start with the look. The smartphone is definitely remarkable:

Xiaomi 12S Ultra itself is rather big: 163.17 × 74.92 × 9.06 mm and weighs 225 grams. The smartphone comes in black and green colors, the back of each version is covered with eco-leather.
The smartphone received a 6.73-inch display with support for Dolby Vision TrueColor. The matrix is Samsung AMOLED LTPO with a resolution of 3200 × 1440. There is a dynamic refresh rate ranging from 1 to 120 Hz. Peak brightness – 1500 nits, typical – 1000.
Iron
Like other models, this smartphone received Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. It comes in three versions: 8/256, 12/256 and 12/512 GB. RAM type LPDDR5 with a speed of 6400 Mbps, built-in – UFS 3.1.
The Xiaomi 12S Ultra has a 4860 mAh conventional battery. It supports fast charging at 67W (the block is included), as well as wireless power up to 50W. There is also reverse wireless – 10 watts maximum.
cameras
The most interesting thing about this smartphone is the cameras, there are only four of them. Three of them are on the back.
Wide-angle received the largest sensor in the mobile industry – one Vidicon inch (3/4 regular inch). You can argue that the Sony Xperia PRO-I also has an inch matrix, but the smartphone uses only part of it, reducing the usable area to 1/1.33 Vidicon inches.
The matrix is called Sony IMX989 with an effective resolution of 50.3 megapixels. However, in most cases, pictures will be taken at a resolution of 12.5 megapixels. Thanks to this, the size of each pixel, when four are combined into one, increases from real 1.6 µm to 3.2 µm.
The lens consists of eight aspherical lenses with low reflectivity coating. The fixed aperture value is f / 1.9, and the EGF is 23 mm.
The ultra-wide received a Sony IMX586 sensor with a resolution of 48 megapixels. Binning also takes place here, combining four pixels into one large 1.6 µm. The aperture value is f / 2.2, the EGF is 13 mm. There is autofocus.
The telephoto lens is equipped with the same Sony IMX586 sensor with all the ensuing factors. Due to the large equivalent focal length of 120 mm (optical zoom relative to the wide-angle camera is 5×), the lens came out not bright at all: f / 4.1.
The front camera takes pictures with a resolution of 32 megapixels. This is an unnamed sensor, each pixel of which consists of four colors (red, green, blue and white).
Each smartphone with the inscription Leica received two shooting modes – Leica Authentic and Leica Vibrant:
The camera can simulate different lenses: 35, 50 and 90 mm.

While the smartphone will be available in China, where sales will start on July 8. The prices are:
- 8/256 GB – 5999 yuan (about $ 900 or 50,500 rubles);
- 12/256 GB – 6499 yuan (about $ 970 or 54,500 rubles);
- 12/512 GB – 6999 yuan (about $ 1050 or 59,000 rubles).
Some media write that Xiaomi 12S Ultra will be available outside of China, but the timing and specific markets are not mentioned.
Xiaomi Notebook Pro
Notebooks with touch OLED displays are available in two versions: 14 and 16 inches. Resolution – 2.8K for the younger model and 4K for the larger one. In addition to resolution, the difference lies in the image refresh rate: the 14-inch Xiaomi Notebook Pro has it up to 90 Hz, while the 16-inch version is limited to 60 Hz.
But the rest of the display characteristics are identical: brightness is 600 nits, DCI-P3 coverage is 100%. Both laptops also come in base versions with 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB PCIe 4.0 storage.

It is not yet known if the laptops will be introduced outside of China.
Xiaomi Home WiFi
The router operates as part of a MESH system. In addition to the usual 2.4 and 5.2 GHz, an unexpected 5.8 GHz has been added.
The kit consists of two devices capable of covering up to 350 square meters of area.
Xiaomi Home WiFi supports eight streams with a total speed of up to 11,700 Mbps.
The price is 1499 yuan (approximately $225 or 12,500 rubles).
Xiaomi Smart Band 7 Pro
Fitness bracelet with extended functionality. The main difference from the usual Mi Band is the design:
However, a GPS module and NFC were added here. Moisture protection class 5 ATM.
The screen occupies almost 88% of the entire panel. Its diagonal is 1.64 inches. It is AMOLED with Always On display capability. Xiaomi has developed about two hundred different display design options.
The watch can be used while playing sports. They are able to measure body readings in 117 different activities, 14 of which are the most popular.
The price is 399 yuan (about $60 or 3,500 rubles).
