Battlefield 2042 is commonly considered a flop, but EA is far from ready to give up the shooter franchise because of it. A new campaign for the shooter series is to be worked on in a new studio in Seattle.

Publisher Electronic Arts wants to bring Battlefield back on the right path and hires new employees for this. A new studio in Seattle is to be equipped with fresh developers to work on a single-player campaign within the franchise. It is unclear whether this should be delivered later for Battlefield 2042, which is considered a flop, or whether it is planned for a future game within the series.

According to the job posting, they are looking for people to create “rich, exciting stories with memorable characters and powerful experiences within the Battlefield universe.” So you’re looking for a Design Director to work on the project that’s supposed to be in the early stages of development. The wanted employee will contribute significantly to the mission design, the game mechanics and the narratives; one strives for the “highest possible qualitative experience”.

Among other things, Battlefield 2042 was criticized for the lack of a campaign – a fact that EA now seems to want to eradicate.

The new studio in Seattle was built just last year. There Marcus Lehto, the co-creator of the Halo series, leads the team. Lehto had been working on Disintegration after Halo and before his EA adventure.
