Microsoft is officially launching the Xbox Game Pass Family Plan trial, introducing a family account for Ultimate subscribers.

With the “Xbox Game Pass Family Plan”, Microsoft has introduced a new option to provide even more options for families and friends. Those who have or want to purchase an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership will soon be able to use the “Family plan“ select and thus can total 5 people use the membership, all of which receive their own access to the subscription.

So you can add four more people, friends and acquaintances to the Xbox Game Pass subscription with your Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership.

A price has not yet been announced, but a full 30 days of Game Pass Ultimate is 18 days of the Insider Preview family plan. If the prices stay the same, you can calculate what a final family account will cost: 25 US dollars or euros.

Converted, 30 days of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate cost 12.99 euros, i.e. 0.43 cents per day. 18 days of the family offer then cost 0.72 cents, which would be around 21.65 euros per month. In the US, the math works out even better at $15 a month and would make a “Xbox Game Pass Family Plan‘ to a whopping $25. So the family subscription in this country could most likely be around 25 euros per month, which would be 5 euros per person.

Xbox Insiders in Colombia and Ireland can be the first to preview the new Game Pass offer and invite people from the same country. It has not yet been revealed when more countries will be added and when the offer will be available to all Xbox owners.

Starting today, Xbox Insiders in Colombia and Ireland can test a plan that allows multiple people to share the benefits of Game Pass Ultimate. This makes it even easier to play the best Game Pass games with friends and family on console, PC and in the cloud by allowing you to add up to four people to your subscription, each with their own access to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate games, content and benefits.”
