Match Group’s dating service Tinder has made some changes to both management and its future plans after its quarterly results were not as good as they had hoped. The changes mean, among other things, that Tinder’s first female CEO, Renate Nyborg, may leave the company after having held the position of CEO for the company for about a year.
Furthermore, Tinder will not realize its plans to create a virtual reality dating service in what some call the metaverse. Tinder was in the starting pits for something that the now fired CEO Nyborg presented as “Tinderverse” at the end of last year. Among other things, Tinder bought the company Hyperconnect last year, a company that focused on augmented reality, video and artificial intelligence to realize the Tinderverse, a service that it now does not seem to be getting rid of.
Tinder will also not launch its own digital currency Tinder Coin in its app. It was a currency that Tinder users were supposed to buy or be able to earn in different ways to then use for various services that Tinder offers.

Tinder fiddles with dating plans in the metaverse
Tinder starts testing game currency
Should make the experience more fun, or something
It seems that Tinder will give us more opportunities to spend money in the app. Bloomberg reports that the dating service has started testing its own in-app currency that users can spend to pay for things in the app, which should make spending a little easier. It feels more reasonable to pay a hundred Tinder Coins than a hundred to get your hands on extra Super Likes, as well. The Tinder coins have started to be tested in Australia and we will see if the new currency makes it to other parts of the world.

Tinder now lets you block people you don’t want to see in the app
Avoid seeing your exes in the app
Tinder is a pretty good tool for meeting new people, but in some cases the app hurts more than it helps. For example, when one’s ex-partner’s profile pops up in the app and stabs a metaphorical knife right in the heart. Now Tinder has announced that they have added a feature that allows you to block profiles from appearing in the feed. The new function is simply called Block Contacts and via this you have the opportunity to choose which of your contacts you do not want to see when you swipe. The feature has been released globally and is available in the app right now.

Tinder launches Blind Date
Rate your matches based on their personality
Now you can soon do something pretty cool on the dating app Tinder, namely decide what you think of your match based on their personality. With the function, you should be able to chat with strangers before you get to know what they actually look like. Users will be paired based on what they have in common and how they answer certain questions. If both users decide to match, they will be able to see each other’s photos. So it doesn’t seem like it’s possible to talk to the people before you match, but you have to start from what the person answers to the questions prepared by Tinder. US Tinder users can access the feature right now, global users will have to wait a few weeks.
