On the official Twitter channel, the people in charge of Square Enix once again went into the features that the HD remaster “Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion” will offer. Among other things, cutscenes set to music and a revised user interface are promised.

In a short live stream celebrating the 25th anniversary of Final Fantasy VII, Square Enix announced Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion alongside the second chapter of the Final Fantasy VII remake.

Here we are dealing with a technically revised version of the PlayStation Portable role-playing game from 2007. Square Enix reiterated the features offered in Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion via the official Twitter channel. While the main features of the menu-based combat system are retained, the remaster gets both optimized camera work and improved character animations.

When it comes to the soundscape of the fantasy adventure, players can tune in to cutscenes set to music as well as a newly arranged soundtrack penned by Takeharu Ishimoto. Finally, there is talk of a revised user interface for large screens.

A classic returns

According to those responsible at Square Enix, “Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII” will be revised so extensively in the course of the new edition that, in principle, “much more than just a simple HD remaster” is offered. Of course, nothing changes in the history of the role-playing game in the remaster. As before, you slip into the role of the protagonist Zack Fair, a soldier of the Shinra special unit soldier.

When Genesis, a first-class soldier, disappears without a trace along with other soldiers during a mission in Wutai, the Shinra leadership decides to send a special unit to Wutai to get to the bottom of what happened. Throughout your adventure, you will meet various iconic Final Fantasy VII characters such as Sephiroth and Aerith Gainsborough in Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion.
