Apple has dreamed for several years of making Maps a service that surpasses what Google does with Maps.
But it is clear that despite Apple’s takeovers and investments, the house mapping service is improving, without however reaching the level of Maps.
It was in the code of Apple Maps that Steve Moser discovered elements suggesting that the service was going to support electric bikes. It would be for Plans to offer information on electric bike stations, but also to suggest routes optimized for these vehicles.
The software could thus make a mix between cycle paths and traditional roads to offer faster or more secure routes, depending on the choice of users. It is not yet clear what the differences will be in terms of routes between those offered for traditional and electric bikes.
You will have to be patient to see the functionality arrive, which has no equivalent in Google Maps to date.
