The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has granted Apple a patent that describes a new version of the smart case for the next generation of flagship AirPods Max headphones.
The patent suggests that the new case will be equipped with a special pocket on the inside, in which the headphones are placed. The case itself will close with a magnetic clasp.
In addition, the documents describe the possibility of charging the headphones from a protective case.
So far, this is just a patent, and it is unclear whether the company will decide to use it in a commercial version of the product. Unfortunately, Apple has no plans to release the second generation of AirPods Max yet, as the company will update the AirPods Pro this year.
