The coalition of development studios, Krafton Inc., is working on a new fantasy RPG. It is based on the novel The Bird That Drinks Tears and already has its own project website.

Krafton Inc. promises to be able to motivate new talents around the world to work in this way. First unveiled concept art of the still unnamed title should give us a foretaste.

The Bird That Drinks Tears game announced: what can we expect?

The fantasy novel The Bird That Drinks Tears by author Yeong-do Lee is considered a popular book series in South Korea. The video game adaptation, which the Krafton Inc. teams have been working on recently, is intended to make the novella known on the Western market. The story will be adjusted a bit for this, while the title of the game is also not entirely certain. Since the title is in a particularly early stage of development, neither the platforms nor the release period are known.

Lee doesn’t do without well-known Western fantasy clichés, but he replaces them with Korean counterparts within his now four-part story. The world of The Bird That Drinks Tears is populated by four races: the Rekkon, the Tokebi, the Nhagi and the Human. The Rekkon are a warrior race of gigantic birds who possess weapons forged exclusively for them by the Final Forge. The Tokebi, on the other hand, are based on Korean goblins and represent the wizards in the novel series.

The Nhagi are a reptilian-like race more likely to be found in the overgrown jungles of the south. As the most populous race, the humans are found in the north occupying a number of cities. An event that spans the entire world of The Bird That Drins Tears throws various members of the four races together, catapulting them into an unknown adventure.

Hollywood artist Iain McCraig is on board

In Iain McCraig, Krafton has secured a real Hollywood talent, who has already been involved behind the scenes with his concept art on works such as Terminator, The Avengers and Harry Potter. In addition, he has a history of contributing to the early character visualizations of Star Wars characters. Now he will use his creative mind to design and develop the world and characters of The Bird That Drinks Tears. The developers promise that fans of the novel will recognize unique interpretations of the four different races.

However, since McCraig will not be able to handle the project all by himself, Krafton is now looking for more addressed website desperate for new employees. If you are also one of the talented ones and can imagine working with the makers of games like PUBG, TERA or the soon to be released Callisto Protocol, about which we have already been interviewed by the Chief Creative Officer of Striking Distance Studios, it would be best to apply direct.
