Is Sony launching a PS5 Pro or PS5 Slim any time soon? Clues found today are said to point to an associated chip. But don’t rejoice too soon.

At the moment it’s ghosting rumor through the Internetthat Sony is working with TSMC and AMD on a chip based on the 6nm manufacturing process. It is speculated that the new hardware could be used in a PS5 Pro or PS5 Slim.

This is suggested by a presentation published on Zuby Tech’s Twitter channel. In fact there are see slides in a tweet, which feature the logos of TSMC and Sony and even mention a remastered version of the PS5. But be careful: It is obviously not material from one of the companies involved.

After a quick search on the internet we came across one “Fictional Business Case Presentation”, which is 24 pages long and contains the slides selected by Zuby Tech. The fictional presentation goes one step further and promises the release of the remastered PS5 on January 1st, 2023.

According to the account description, a certain Sarah Mustahsane, who apparently studies at the Skema Business School, is responsible for the publication of the presentations, as the name appears several times on pages related to the French business school.

It can therefore be assumed that the fictitious chip presentation is a school assignment. Similar presentations were made by Sarah Mustahsane published on Colgate Kitchen and Teltech.

How about a PS5 Pro or PS5 Slim?

While today’s rumor obviously has nothing to do with reality, revised versions of the PS5 are certainly to be expected. In the past generations, revised versions of the consoles have been released repeatedly after a few years – in the PS4 generation even with higher performance.

The PS4 Pro appeared three years after the launch of the original model in order to be able to control the then emerging 4K televisions with corresponding games. Such a technology change to a new standard is not currently in the offing, but that does not necessarily mean that Sony will not be launching a revised PS5 at the end of next year or in 2024. Relevant Expectations were already expressed in May.
