We know the impressive success of the tactical mobile game Summoners War: Sky Arena (the game claims more than 150 million downloads) and to help enrich the license, the group Com2us announced in 2017 the development of Summoners War Chronicles : a mobile MMORPG inspired by the franchise intended to lay the foundations for a Summoners War Universe (a global universe bringing together the MMO backed by the blockchain, novels, web-series and other animated series).

After a few years of development and several phases of testing, the release of Summoners War Chronicles is now set for August 16 in South Korea – pending a later global launch. For the record, in Summoners War Chronicles, players embody a summoner – three summoner archetypes will be available at launch: a ranged offensive archetype (Orbia), another support archetype (Kina) and finally a tank archetype (Cleaf) . Moreover, the summons collection system lends itself easily to the integration of “play-to-earn” mechanics – which Com2uS renames here “play-to-own” to emphasize that the player will be able to “own” the virtual objects. and creatures unlocked in-game, in particular to monetize them in the form of NFTs via crypto-asset markets. We know the mechanism is still banned in South Korea, but it has already been announced for the future Western version of Summoners War Chronicles.
