For a few hours, the kick-off of the EVO 2022 has been given on the side of Las Vegas. After two canceled editions (2020 and 2021) due to the COVID pandemic in the world, the biggest esports event dedicated to Versus Fighting intends to reconnect with the success and excitement of players for an entire weekend. On the publisher side, the biggest have obviously responded: Capcom with Street Fighter V, SNK with its KOF XV, Bandai Namco has returned with Tekken 7 and Dragon Ball FighterZ in its bag, Arc System Works will be present with Guilty Gear Strive and even Warner is there with Mortal Kombat 11. Just to score a big blow, SNK has pulled out all the stops by bringing in its musicians for an exceptional live where several pieces from the soundtracks of Fatal Fury, KOF and Samurai Shodown are played on the spot.

In order to give us an overview and to immerse ourselves in the atmosphere of arcade machines and the NeoGeo during the 90s, we have the right to a small preview in a video of more than 23 minutes. The song Esaka from KOF 96 was played, as was the Fairy from the same game which is none other than the theme music by Chizuru Kagura. For fans of Fatal Fury Special, Billy Kane’s very nervous London March opens the video, while you have to wait until the end to enjoy Geese Howard’s Soy Sauce. Samurai Shodown is also represented with Banquet of Nature, the musical theme of Nakoruru, and the very dynamic Tuna which acted as theme in Galford. KOF XV is of course represented, as is Garou Mark of the Wolves with Terry Bogard’s theme, the famous Sunrise on the Train. We let you listen to the result.
