The element of surprise was somewhat curtailed by a leak yesterday; Valkyrie Elysium had given us an appointment tonight for a new trailer, before the release date was disclosed in advance. Now that the broadcast has passed, we can discover the new trailer and have confirmation of the release date, although it has a small subtlety.
A date and a trailer
As the leak suggested, the exit of Valkyrie Elysium is set for September 29 on PlayStation consoles. However, the output on PC will be staggered then this one is programmed at the November 11th. A few short weeks apart, with an arrival that will take place on Steamand reserving the title in advance will allow access to a pre-order bonus, the Alscir equipment, the sword of the god of light.
The trailer is relatively generous, and allows us to see a little more about the plot and the universe of this new episode with the Valkyrie license. Alternating cinematics and combat phases, the video allows us to have a good overview of what awaits us in this action RPG which relies on dynamic gameplay with combat and invocations of warrior spirits called the Einherjar.
In the process, Square Enix also presented in detail its various editions, with an edition Digital Deluxe, available on both PlayStation Store and Steam. This offers the game in its digital version, three-day early access, Valkyrie equipment to be found in the game (Svartaljr) but also and above all, a copy of Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth (only on PlayStation).
Valkyrie Profile: Returning Lenneth
Released at the time of the PlayStation then adapted for the PSP, Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth is making a comeback here in a port designed for current home consoles. A few months ago, we sensed a return since the Japanese publisher had again registered the brand, leaving behind the first clues of this port.
These PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 versions will bring all the conveniences of our time as we are used to from ports of old Square Enix games. There is a resolution suitable for 16:9 and the addition of features such as quick save and rewind, allowing you to rewind the action.
If it will be present in the digital deluxe edition, Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth will also be entitled to its standalone release via the PlayStation Store: you can therefore get your hands on it without necessarily buying Valkyrie Elysium. The western price is not known but it should cost around twenty euros for a release also scheduled for September 29
A collector in Japan
If in Europe, it will be necessary to be satisfied with the Deluxe edition in digital, the Japanese community will be much luckier: ae collector’s edition, exclusive to the Square Enix Store, will also be released in September. This will cost 19,980 yen (about 140€) and includes:
- The boxed game
- A download code for Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth
- An artbook
- A selection of the soundtrack on CD
- A script
- acrylic cards
Except good surprise, nothing planned for the moment in our regions. It will be necessary to go through the import or to be satisfied with the standard version, which revealed its jackets and which should all the same come out in physics with us. Valkyrie Elysium will therefore debut on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on September 29 and then on PC on November 11.
