World of Warcraft: Shadowlands is slowly coming to an end, and the next expansion Dragonflight is already in the starting blocks. While Shadowlands hasn’t been well received by the community as a whole, Blizzard’s recent patches have at least improved some annoying aspects of the expansion. Players who may have been made curious about World of Warcraft again by Dragonflight could also have a little fun with Shadowlands.
Blizzard is giving away Shadowlands Edition with lots of goodies
Particularly lucky players probably don’t even have to buy the expansion, because like that MeinMMO reports, Blizzard is currently giving away the Epic Edition of World of Warcraft: Shadowlands. This still costs 74.99 euros in the Blizzard shop, but in the last few days more and more posts have appeared on Reddit and other social media from players who received the expansion as a gift in Battle.net.
Mostly former players will get the Epic Edition from Blizzard as a gift, who might want to generate a bit of hype for Dragonflight with this promotion. The company itself probably doesn’t make too big a loss because of this, because with the exception of the current expansion, players no longer have to buy the various expansions individually for a long time. When Dragonflight is released, Shadowlands will be included in the subscription as usual. Anyone who has not yet bought the expansion will probably not do so until the Dragonflight release.
You can find out if you got the expansion as a gift by simply logging into the Battle.net desktop app and checking your notifications in the top-right corner. Or you will directly receive a pop-up with the gift. It will be interesting to see whether the number of players will increase significantly as a result of this gift campaign, or whether only a handful of players will receive the Epic Edition at all.
