Apple is said to have adopted a new business strategy regarding which devices will have newly developed circuits. At least that’s what the leak and analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claims.
Apple has already made its Pro models of Iphone a little special compared to the regular Iphone versions, including better cameras and last year only the Pro models got screens with 120 Hz. According to Kuo, Apple will take this even further by giving the regular models and Pro models different system circuits. In that case, it would mean that only the Iphone 14 Pro and Iphone 14 Pro Max will get the latest generation of Apple’s Bionic A16 circuit, while the regular models will get the previous Bionic A15 generation. The reason should be that you want to further differentiate Pro and “non-pro”. This should not be something specific for the Iphone 14 series, but is said to be a business strategy in the future.
If Kuo’s information is correct, it could be a setback for the regular Iphone 14 models, which in several respects will have the same performance as the previous Iphone 13 generation.
According to Kuo, there will also be some differences when it comes to working memory – all models are said to have six gigabytes of working memory, but the Pro models are said to have LPDDR 5 memories while the others get slower LPDDR 4X memories.
