Halo Infinite’s more minor updates have been dubbed “Drop Pod” by the developers. The next one will be available this week and we now know its content, which we are detailing today. This update is intended to expand each player’s customization options, include overall improvements, and lay the groundwork for even more community-requested features. See you on Tuesday August 9th.

More customization in Halo Infinite

Universal visors

All visors that are currently available in-game, and all future visors to come, will work on all helmets of all armor cores.

The developers prove it with the Athena’s Mirror visor applied to the YOROI helmet.

More equipment for MARK VII helmets

This Drop Pod will also allow certain Mark VII helmet accessories to be worn on several Mark VII helmets.

This is in response to feedback from players that we have seen requesting an extension to Mark VII helmet accessory compatibility. Naturally, this decision came with some complexities since most helmet gear for the Mark VII core is designed to fit a specific helmet, but some also fit well with other Mark VII helmets.

New multiplayer options

New ranked playlists

This update will make it easier to implement more ranked playlists in the future. Kicking off will be the Ranked Doubles, which is set to land two weeks after the Drop Pod’s release – complete with a CSR reset. Additionally, a Team Doubles social playlist will accompany Ranked Doubles on launch day, meaning Halo Infinite will get twice the 2v2 fun.

Soon the choice of region for the multi

While that won’t be the case with this update yet, it does include “a lot of the work” needed for players to be able to choose their region in the future. This may result in faster seek times or better ping.

Some revisions in the menus

Finally ! The list of active challenges will now be visible during a match via the pause menu. “We know it’s useful to be able to quickly view your active challenges (along with their descriptions) at any time during a match, so we’re very happy to implement it”say the developers.
