A weakened Beluga whale is on the move in the river Seine, about 70 kilometres from Paris. The authorities have been working for several days to locate the whale, the prefecture of the Eure department in north-western France wrote on Twitter on Saturday. According to the news channel Franceinfo, the whale is stuck in a lock. It is not the first time a large whale has become lost in the French river: In May, an orca starved to death after spending weeks in the Seine. Meanwhile in July, a fin whale was thought to have been spotted in the mouth of the river near Le Havre.
