Twitch streamer JerValiN made Halo history by becoming the first person to complete Halo 2 on its Deathless LASO difficulty without the Envy Skull active, collecting a $20,000 bounty. A first since the game was released in 2004.

Considered the franchise’s toughest campaign, Halo 2 proves to be a more than full-bodied challenge in its highest difficulty setting. And in its LASO version, which activates all the skulls in the game and a whole bunch of maluses, the task turns out to be downright impossible. As proof, almost 20 years after the game’s release, no player could boast of having managed to close the campaign in this difficulty without dying. In order to remedy this, streamer Charlie “Cr1tikal” White, who is followed by 10 million subscribers on YouTube, launched a challenge a few weeks ago to Internet users: complete Halo 2 in its highest difficulty mode, with all active skulls with the exception of the Envy skull which gives the player too big a bonus. A visibly positive emulation. On August 3, 2022, after several attempts spread over a month, JerVaLin managed to accomplish this feat in just over 6 hoursmarking on this occasion the history of the game. He was previously the first person to achieve a run of Halo 2 without death with all of the skulls (including the positive effect of Envy), he is now the first and only person to have managed to complete a run of Halo 2 with all of the debuffs active and without taking advantage of the Envy skull bonus.

A feat widely welcomed by fans of the game. If more than 10,000 people attended the feat live, many people congratulated the player on social networks including John Junyszek, senior community manager. Moreover, the exploit allows him to pocket the 20,000 dollars put into play by Charlie White.
