That was over seven years ago Tekken 7 was released (five years for the console versions), and we still haven’t heard anything official about Tekken 8. During the EVO 2022 tournament, however, something was shown that must be interpreted as a teaser for the unannounced sequel.
At the end of a trailer for the balance updates to come Tekken 7 we unexpectedly got to see the more or less classic cutscene from the first Tekkengame, where Kazuya throws Heihachi off a cliff after defeating him. However, during the close-up of Kazuya’s face, the old graphics are replaced with a much more modern variant, along with the words “Get Ready”.
Some others who think we should get ready for something Tekken-related is The Game Awards, which posted the picture of Kazuya with the same words. In other words, the actual announcement of the game may take place during The Game Awards, which will take place on December 9. Before then, the Tekken thirst can possibly be quenched a little with Tekken: Bloodlines, which is a Netflix series premiering on August 18.
