After the disastrous launch, hops and malt for Battlefield 2042 seemed almost lost. Since the start of the first season, however, the tide has turned a bit. More and more players are enjoying EA’s shooter again. But now the developers have allowed themselves a gross blunder and buffed an already very strong weapon even further, as a new video proves.
Update blunder: BSV-M is now even stronger
With the start of the first Battlefield 2042 season called Zero Hour, not only did a new map find its way into the game, fresh weapons were also added to the arsenal – including the BSV-M.
The new DMR has been popular with many players since its introduction because of its incredible versatility, built-in silencer, low recoil, and great damage at medium to long ranges. No wonder many players assumed this all-rounder would be toned down in the next update – but in fact the opposite is the case.
With update 1.1, the BSV-M has been further improved. the Projectile speed increased from 700 to 790 m/salso became the Headshot damage multiplier adjusted from 1.9x to 2.2x (Source: EA blog). So the bottom line is that not only do the BSV-M bullets fly faster, so you don’t have to hold up as much on moving targets, but if you land a headshot, your enemies will also cross the Jordan even faster – this happens at almost all distances in 2-3 hits.
YouTuber Stodeh impressively shows in his video how overpowering the BSV-M has been since the update:
This is what the YouTuber’s loadout looks like
who that Get the maximum out of the BSV-M should choose a similar or the same loadout as Stodeh – and that looks like this:
- run: Shortened silencer
- visor: by choice
- Ammunition: high power
- underflow: BCG Light Grip
You can change the visor as needed, the other extensions will help you with that exploit the full potential of the BSV-M.
Incidentally, this isn’t the first blunder in weapon balancing that the developers of Battlefield 2042 have made. Recently, an overpowered shotgun build was making the rounds, allowing you to take out enemies at absurdly long ranges in a short amount of time.
It remains to be seen whether the buff of the BSV-M is really wanted or whether the developers have simply made a mistake here. What is certain, however, is that you will probably see the BSV-M more often on the digital battlefields of BF 2042 after this update.
