We will admit that between the fatigue and the video, we are not sure to have really attended the first images of tekken 8. I have to say that Katsuhiro Harada didn’t help at the end of the video since instead of clarifying the situation he preferred to pretend to fight with the commentators of the EVO 2022 tournament before simply leaving without a word. Because it’s not just Fatal Fury who has the right to make real false announcements.

Tekken 8? Tag Tournament 3? Cross Street Fighter? (yes not the last)

Everything starts quietly with a video that evokes the great finals of the Tekken World Tour 2022 which will take place on February 4 and 5, 2023 in Amsterdam. The trailer also promises a free update for August 17 which will rebalance the gameplay of Tekken 7 then things take a strange turn.

We start by seeing the legendary cinematic at the end of Kazuya in the first episode which had been for example largely parodied in the character’s announcement video in Super Smash Bros Ultimate then the close-up is replaced by another image of the character in a more detailed 3D model than the last episode, while the text “Get ready” appears.

bandai namco does not give more details on Twitter or in the description but invites people to watch until the end. We also note that the thumbnail of the video is the image of the text “Get ready for the next battle” the famous sentence which precedes each match in the series and which here has the context of the Pro Tour final but difficult not to see a second meaning asking us to prepare for the next game.

In short, we look forward to learning more. We absolutely do not believe it for gamescom which is a little too close but perhaps during the Game Awards in December given the responsiveness of the official Twitter account of the ceremony to participate in the teasing?
