A Munich court recently upheld Nokia’s lawsuit for patent infringement and thus imposed a sales ban on Oppo and OnePlus in Germany. The manufacturers have now stopped selling, but want to continue operations.

A harsh blow to the Chinese group BBK: The district court in Munich 1 recently issued a sales ban in Germany against the Oppo and OnePlus brands. The reason is a patent lawsuit by Nokia. Smartphones can no longer be ordered on the German OnePlus website, only information about the devices can be called up. Oppo immediately removed all details about its phones from its website.

Other BBK brands are also threatened with a sales freeze

But Nokia is not only taking action against Oppo and OnePlus. Another BBK brand is also affected by the lawsuit. The Finnish group is also suing Vivo. It is therefore conceivable that Vivo devices could also be affected by a sales ban in the coming months.

However, the smartphones from Oppo and OnePlus can still be purchased in stores. OnePlus has now declared that it always wants to comply with the applicable laws in the respective markets and respect intellectual property. However, Nokia would demand license fees at an “unreasonable level”. However, they want to continue working to clarify the legal situation as quickly as possible.

OnePlus would also want to remain loyal to the German market. Current users of Oppo and OnePlkus devices also have nothing to worry about as the smartphones and services can still be used without restrictions. Customer service and software updates also remained active.
