State Duma deputies have prepared a new bill related to business activities in Western social networks.
According to him, banks and financial organizations should stop serving companies that provide services “using websites” that distribute information prohibited in Russia and to which access is blocked in the country. Specifically, it searches for Instagram and Facebook (*both belong to Meta, recognized as extremist in Russia).
If companies do business on these social networks, banking services will be closed to them. Appropriate amendments are proposed to be made to Article 7 of the Federal Law “On counteracting the legalization (laundering) of proceeds from crime and the financing of terrorism”. [BBC]
