Last night, current US President Joe Biden posthumously awarded Apple founder Steve Jobs the Presidential Medal of Freedom for his inventions that have changed the way we communicate around the world.

“Steve Jobs was the co-founder, CEO and chairman of Apple, CEO of Pixar, and held a leadership role at The Walt Disney Company. His vision, imagination and creativity have led to inventions that have changed and continue to change the way the world communicates, as well as transforming the computer, music, film and wireless industries.”

Apple CEO Tim Cook shared the news on twitteradding that Jobs was a “visionary” who saw the world for “what it could be”.

The Presidential Medal of Freedom is the highest civilian award in the United States, given to individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to the prosperity, values, or security of the nation, world peace, or other important public or private endeavours.

The very medal for Steve in the White House was given to his widow Lauren Powell Jobs.
