In the new week there are some improvements coming to Halo Infinite in the August Drop Pod Update.

The new Drop Pod for Halo Infinite will be released on August 9, 2022 and will bring some improvements to the shooter. Two weeks after release there will be a new playlist: Ranked Doubles along with a CSR reset.

All visors currently in the game and all future visors to come are compatible with all helmets from all armor cores as of the update. 343 Industries further improves the customization options and also allows you to fit certain Mark VII helmet attachments on multiple Mark VII helmets.

The developers state: “This is in response to player feedback requesting an expansion of Mark VII helmet attachment compatibility. Of course, there were some difficulties with this move, as most helmet attachments for the Mark VII core are tailored to a specific helmet, but some fit well on other Mark VII helmets as well.”

“The Live team spent some time with our artists to figure out which helmet mounts would look and fit the best without awkward snapping or large holes. As there can be cutouts or large holes with certain combinations, not every Mark VII helmet can use every helmet attachment – but the total number of options has been increased significantly.”

“If you have already unlocked these helmets and helmet attachments, they are automatically usable. If you unlock them in the future, all possible combinations will be unlocked for you. They then no longer have to be activated individually.”

In addition, the August update lays a new foundation for matchmaking in Halo Infinite. While it’s not yet available, preparations are underway and soon it will be possible to customize the player search with two more options: All regions (faster search times) or local region (better pings).

343 Industries announces that starting tomorrow, the challenges will also appear in the pause menu.

“With this release of Drop Pod, your active challenges can be viewed in the pause menu during a match. We know it’s helpful to be able to have a quick look at your active challenges (and their descriptions) at any time during a match, so we’re really excited that this is now possible.”
