We are not going to lie to each other, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion is one of the games highly anticipated by some team members! For some, the game is borderline Remake while for others it’s a simple Remaster HD…
In addition to the big graphic improvements, Square Enix also announced full voice acting for the game and changes to the combat system and camera management (among other things).
However, for the game’s creative producer, Tetsuya Nomura expressed himself on this subject during an interview with the Italian site Everyeye part of which has been translated by NintendoEverything.
It turns out that from Square’s perspective, no one was quite sure how best to describe the project. It used to be a question of talking about remake and then remaster… But in these eyes, the game is closer to a remaster, because there have been no changes in terms of the story, the game being ultimately identical to the original.
But from a technical point of view, the graphics have been completely redone, they started from scratch for the 3D models of the characters. He recalls that scenes originally only subtitled are now fully dubbed. The combat system has also been improved. But in the end, Square Enix still wasn’t sure of the right term to use to describe the game, which is why… the game is subtitled ” Meeting ! It’s a way of saying that the game is a remaster and not totally a remake…!
So here is something to shine at the next family meal and which sheds light on this “Reunion” which is ultimately only a name to describe a Remastermake!
The story :
We are seven years before the events of Final Fantasy VII. Shinra society rules the mako-powered metropolis of Midgar with a frightening level of influence and military might.
The SOLDIERS, a group of elite warriors with incredible abilities, are part of the Shinra military.
A 2nd Class SOLDIER named Zack Fair is sent on a mission to investigate the disappearance of another SOLDIER, Genesis, alongside Constable 1st Class, Angeal Hewley, and world famous hero, Sephiroth.
That’s all we’ll say for fear of spoilers, but suffice it to say that this is the start of a story that is dramatic, emotional, and has massive implications for the world and universe of Final Fantasy VII.
