10. Bannerman Castle, New York

Located on Pollepel Island or Bannerman’s Island in New York’s Hudson River, Bannerman Castle is a strange little long-abandoned castle that once served as a warehouse of military surplus. As to why the island was deserted, it is not known exactly, but rumors claim that the castle is haunted. Despite its derelict state, it is a popular tourist attraction.
