Disney has earned the entire amount paid for Lucasfilm
The billion-dollar deal is described as “galactically” good for Disney
Six years ago, Disney bought George Lucas’ film company Lucasfilm for four billion dollars and it seems to be a deal that has already paid off, writes CNBC. According to the analysis company ComScore, the Star Wars movies released since 2012 alone have grossed $ 4.8 billion to Disney. These are the four films The Force Awakens, Rogue One, The Last Jedi and Solo: A Star Wars Story. Sales of Star Wars merchandise and other license revenues are not included in the amount above. This means that it may not be entirely wrong to say that Disney’s acquisition of Lucasfilm may be one of the best corporate acquisitions ever, as some analysts now say.
