Who else knows Fatal Fury from you? Anyone who feels addressed now is certainly one of the older gaming semesters. After all, the last part of the cult series is over 20 years old – but now the franchise is celebrating a comeback after all.

Fans of Fatal Fury and the Garou series have reason to be happy: After more than two decades of waiting, the iconic series is finally returning with a new title. One of these has now been officially confirmed at EVO 2022, at least via a teaser trailer.

Not only Street Fighter 6 and a teaser for a possible Tekken 8 topic were at the big brawl tournament, but also the Fatal Fury series, popular among fans in the past, which is now making it back onto the scene. Developer SNK has confirmed work on a new offshoot.

Unfortunately, further details about the new game are still scarce; neither a release period nor the planned supported platforms were mentioned. Nevertheless, the mere announcement of the new game will probably bring tears of joy down the cheeks of one or the other retro fan.

The title will be the first offshoot of the series since the last published Garou: Mark of the Wolves – and it dates back to 1999 and thus the last millennium. A 23-year wait is now over.

You can see the teaser mentioned to confirm the development work attached. You can see the first artwork showing Rock Howard above. The game, which is simply referred to internally as “New Fatal Fury/Garou”, does not even have a final name.
