Yesterday, Apple released the fifth beta version of iOS 16 to beta testers, making several small but notable changes to the operating system.
Below we have compiled everything new that appeared in the fifth beta version.
Battery Percentage in Status Bar
The battery icon in the status bar now displays the exact battery percentage. this feature can be enabled in the Battery section of the Settings app.
Charge level is available on iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 models, excluding 5.4-inch iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 13 mini. It’s also available on the iPhone X and XS, but not on the iPhone 11 or iPhone XR.
Battery Percentage hasn’t been available on iPhones with notches for years due to lack of space, so this change is a welcome change for many iPhone users. Up to this point, to check the exact percentage of battery charge, you had to swipe your finger on the “Control Center” or use a separate widget that shows the battery status.
New sound for the Find My app
When you use the Play Sound option in the Find My app for one of your devices, the iPhone now plays the new sound. It’s slightly louder and different from what was available in previous versions of iOS 16.
New sound when pinging iPhone with Apple Watch
When you swipe up on your Apple Watch to get to Control Center, when you tap the iPhone icon to ping your iPhone for location, you’ll also hear a new sound. This is the same new sound as found in the Find My app.
Visualizer on the lock screen
iOS 16 beta 3 introduced a full-screen music player, and iOS 16 beta 5 introduced a live mini-visualizer.
depth effect
The Depth Effect feature has been removed when setting wallpapers on the lock screen. The switch to turn it off has also been removed.
It may be brought back in future betas as this feature has been available on the iPhone for a long time.
Apple Music
Apple has slightly changed the location of the Dolby Atmos and Lossless indicators. The information is now next to the genre.
Screenshots
When you take a screenshot, edit it, and then click the Done button, a new Copy and Delete option appears. Previously, it could only be removed.
Other new features
This may not be all of the available changes. Write in the comments if you find something else interesting.
