Alone in the Dark, a horror franchise launched by Frenchman Frédérick Raynal, could make a comeback. An insider started a cryptic teaser he’s used to.
The Snitch, an insider whose identity we would like to know, has struck again. In a cryptic teaser that he likes, we learn that there could be an announcement around Alone in the Dark. And this very soon…
An Alone in the Dark game announced at the THQ Nordic Showcase?
The Snitch is back with a coded message… which was quickly deciphered. Earlier, he indeed posted “Being afraid of the dark is what keeps most of us alive”. A reference to Alan Wake 2? At all.
This phrase is from the movie Alone in the Dark. A live-action project released in 2005 starring Tara Reid, Christian Slater and Stephen Dorff. Knowing that The Snitch is mainly interested in video games, it should rather be seen as a clue to the return of the video game franchise and not to a new feature film.
What also puts the flea in the ear is that this Friday, August 12, THQ Nordic is organizing an event to present its future games. And who bought the AITD license in 2018? THQ! After 7 years without any news, we could therefore have a surprise game announced.
The first episode was released in 1992 and was directed by Frenchman Frédérick Raynal (Little Big Adventure). Far from being confined to a local success, the horror title inspired one of the greatest in the field: Shinji Mikami, the creator of Resident Evil. If he has always denied this, he finally confessed in 2014. Mikami-san had no right to say so when he was at Capcom, the Japanese publisher having made a deal with Infogrammes.
