The macOS Ventura 5 beta is now available for download to testers participating in the Mac System Beta testing program.

Typically, a registered developer beta comes first, followed shortly by a public beta of the same build.

Any Mac user actively using the macOS Ventura beta will find the latest beta 5 update available for download by going to Apple menu > System Preferences > Software Update.

Sometimes beta updates don’t come right away, so by exiting and restarting System Preferences, it should update itself.

macOS Ventura adds several new features and makes some other changes to the Mac operating system. Stage Manger is a new multi-tasking interface, Mac can use iPhone as an external webcam with Continuity Camera, Mail app has the ability to schedule and cancel emails, messages can be edited, HandOff works with FaceTime calls, Mac now has an app Weather and Clock app, System Preferences has been renamed System Preferences and has a redesigned look that will be an adjustment for long time Mac users, and various other changes and tweaks have also been made to macOS Ventura.

Beta system software is notoriously buggy, but if you’re an adventurous user, you can also install the macOS Ventura public beta if you need it. Just remember that this is not recommended for any mainstream Mac, and it’s best to reserve the beta system software for additional hardware, just wait until the final release is available later this year.

Whether you’re interested in the beta or just waiting for the final version, check out the list of Macs that are compatible with macOS Ventura.

According to Apple, the final version of macOS Ventura will be released this fall.

iOS 16 beta 5 and iPadOS 16 beta 5 are also available to testers separately.
