While by force of circumstance and Europe in particular Apple must consider equipping its iPhones with USB-C, possibly as early as next year, all Lightning devices will have to follow the same path.
The AirPods are a special case since they are sold in whole pallets, unlike the mouse or the more confidential Magic Trackpad. A connector change for the headphone family will not be a micro event.
Even though the end of this year could see the arrival of the AirPods Pro 2, they may still use the Lighning on their case valued analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. A box that previous rumors have described as quite different from the current one, with the addition of a speaker for the Locate function.
Other rumors were advancing on USB-C for these AirPods Pro 2, but for Ming-Chi Kuo it is only from next year that this format of connectors will prevail in the AirPods family. The replacements for AirPods 3 and AirPods Max can become the first to equip themselves with them, in the same vein as the iPhone 15.
