Last week, we gave an update on what’s coming in August in Pokemon GO and particularly his Community Day which will take place this Saturday. But before that, this is the event Insectomania which will start on this beautiful Wednesdaythe opportunity to go out with his net smartphone to capture a whole bunch of Pokemon Of type Bug.

Niantic presented everything on the official site and some Ultra Bonuses invited themselves to the party thanks to the efforts of the community.

Insectomania

From Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. to Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at 8:00 p.m. (local time).

Pokémon debut

Larvibule, Chrysapile* and Lucanon** will make their debut in Pokémon GO!

  • *You can use 25 Larvibule Candies to transform Larvibule into Chrysapile.
  • ** As long as you are near an active Magnetic Lure Module, you can use 100 Larvibule Candy to evolve Chrysapile into Lucanon.

Mega Sciz arrives!

Mega Scizor (Chromatic) will make its Pokémon GO debut in Mega Raids!

Event Bonuses

  • XP x2 when you capture a Pokémon with a Nice Throw, a Great Throw, and an Excellent Throw.

Ultra Bonus: event bonus

  • Earn extra Candies when you capture a Pokémon with a Nice Throw, Great Throw, and Excellent Throw.
  • Trainers level 31 and above will have a higher chance of receiving XL Candy when catching a Pokémon with a Nice Throw, Great Throw, and Excellent Throw.

Ultra Bonus unlocked: Unown T appears!

  • Unown T (Chromatic) will appear in Raid Battles during the “Insectomania” event!

Ultra Bonus unlocked: Feuillajou will appear all over the world!

  • Leafy (Chromatic), the Grass Monkey Pokémon, will appear in the wild and in raids around the world during the “Insectomania” event!

Ultra Bonus Unlocked: Timed Study

Timed Researches focusing on catching Bug-type Pokémon will be available throughout the event! Complete research missions to earn items, Pokémon encounters, and Mega Energy for Scizor!

A fantastic collection challenge

Get ready to live out every self-respecting Scout’s dream by completing a Collection Challenge featuring Bug-type Pokémon! Complete the challenge to receive the “Scout” pose and 15,000 XP.

This pose will also be available for purchase in the in-game store after the event.

Bonuses for groups

Collaborate with other Trainers to unlock additional bonuses! If three or more Trainers join a Raid Battle in person, a particular wild Bug-type Pokémon will appear more frequently for 15 minutes within 300 meters of the Arena where the raid took place! The Pokémon that will appear in the greatest numbers changes every day:

  • August 10: Chenipotte (chromatic);
  • August 11: Chenipan (chromatic);
  • August 12: Mimigal (chromatic);
  • August 13: Crikzik (chromatic);
  • August 14: Venipatte (chromatic);
  • August 15: Aspicot (chromatic);
  • August 16: Coxy (chromatic).

Surprise encounters

Smile! A Bug-type Pokémon might pay you a surprise visit when you take a picture during the “Insectomania” event!

wild encounters

The following Pokémon will appear more frequently in the wild. Also, with a bit of luck, you may encounter a Chromatic Venipaw for the first time in Pokémon GO!
