Apex Legends is certainly one of the biggest successes of Electronic Arts in recent years and Respawn Entertainment is not going to stop there. A new FPS in the Apex universe is indeed in development.
Apex will be entitled to its solo FPS
Respawn Entertainment is busy with Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, a Star Wars strategy game to watch and a new FPS in development. The latter had been formalized last year as a solo FPS and offering “a freedom of innovation made possible by the unique universe it inhabits”.
We don’t know yet if this FPS is the same one we’re talking about today, but it’s now official, Respawn Entertainment is developing a new first-person shooter in the Apex universe. This follows several recruitments listed on the developer’s site for an “FPS in the Apex universe” in incubation within the studio.
We’re looking for a talented and experienced 3D Hardsurface Artist to help build an all-new Respawn single-player adventure.
This new single-player title is a developer’s dream playground with the freedom to innovate made possible by the unique universe it inhabits.
A post of hard surface artist is also open and mentions a “brand new Respawn solo adventure”, still within the framework of this incubated project. This means that a small team is working on the project for now and probably won’t expect an official announcement soon.
At the time of writing, more than a hundred positions are open at Respawn Entertainment, a sign of the studio’s expansion, but also of the difficulty that video game companies have in recruiting in a very competitive and growing.
