1Password for iPhone and iPad is getting a big update today. With a focus on speed, a new home screen, customization options, and more, 1Password 8 is touted as a “whole new experience” for iPhone and iPad users.

One of the biggest changes in today’s 1Password update is a brand new home screen with new customization options. Now you can easily hide, show, and rearrange everything you see on the 1Password home screen.

This includes the ability to pin various fields on the 1Password home screen.

What are fixed fields? The easiest way to truly make 1Password yours. You can pin any field in the 1Password element right on the home screen so you always have instant access to, say, your bank routing number or one-time Twitter login code.

The emphasis on customization also extends to the new navigation bar, which is always pinned to the bottom of the interface. This new navigation bar allows you to:

Quick access to the home screen: Here you will find your favorites, recent items, or whatever you want to have quick access to. Access to all items in all your accounts: all your repositories, all your tags. It’s all here. Search All: When you click the search button, the search field is immediately focused. Just start typing to find what you are looking for. Boost your security: Get one-click access to a brand new Watchtower mobile experience.

The new design of The Watchtower for iPhone and iPad aims to make it clearer when your password to a website or service has been compromised. There are new actionable alerts that tell you how to protect yourself, as well as better integration into your security score.

Interestingly, 1Password 8 has been released as a new app for iPhone and iPad. This means that 1Password is still available and your app will not update automatically. You’ll have to go to the App Store and manually download 1Password 8 if you want to upgrade.
