The third Sonic movie opens in theaters in December 2024, and in due course he will be joined in the world of live action movies by another classic video game character. It is none other than the voracious ghost hater Pac-Man that will be made into a movie, and it is Bandai Namco Entertainment that is behind the project together with the production company Wayfarer Studios, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The film is based on an idea from Chuck Williams – who, among other things, co-produced the first Sonic film – and he will also act as producer along with Tim Kwok and a number of others.

Now the questions are many. Will Pac-Man have dialogue or just utter his cryptic “waka waka waka waka,” and who will be honored to lend his voice? Will he have legs or arms? Not to mention who will play the human sidekick who is initially very skeptical of Pac-Man’s antics, but then realizes he’s made a friend for life.
