By Alex Lang New York (Knewz) — A record low number of Americans say the Bible is the literal word of God, a new poll claimed. A recent Gallup survey found that 20 percent said the book is literal, down from 24 percent during a similar survey in 2017. The amount is the lowest mark in the survey’s 40-year history. In the mid-1980s the figure was twice as high. Gallup found that a new high, 29 percent, said the Bible is a collection of fables, legends, history and moral precepts recorded by man.
