How to pass the pill of an iPhone price increase? This is the question that Apple must have asked itself, if by chance the manufacturer decided to raise the prices of the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max as Ming-Chi Kuo intended to do.
One of the possible answers is to promote the new features: the Pro models of the 2022 edition should thus swap the notch for a pill + hole duo, integrate an improved camera, an A16 chip and an always-on screen. The two basic iPhone 14s could retain the notch and the A15 chip of the current models. The only new “size” would be the 6.7-inch Max model. In this diagram, the differences between the two ranges are much clearer.

Apple could also play on storage. We can recall this indiscretion of TrendForce dating back to June that the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max would start at 256GB base, double today’s. Instead of the current four levels, ie 128/256/512 GB and 1 TB, there would only be the last three. While the iPhone 14 and 14 Max would keep the current levels (128/256/512 GB).
Would all of this justify the (likely?) additional hundred euros for the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max, that remains to be seen.
