Gustave does not give up and the functions under Windows 11 and Windows 10 from 19041 on the Surface Duo (1) are increasing. A number of interesting functions have now been added as new highlights in the WOA project.

So now the firmware support for cellular and WLAN has been added. eSIM works just like GPS. The first precautions have also been taken to ensure that calls, VoLTE, RCS are working. But that will only come with the next updates. There is still work to do for the camera.

The camera subsystem has already been implemented. Camera stack itself but not yet functional. These are all things that Gustave gradually integrates. As can be seen in the picture, Gustave can even add a third screen via Miracast. He’s hoping to add a fourth screen via USB-C soon too.

Gustave seems to have enough ideas that he would like to implement. There are still known issues. For example, the displays do not react to being folded down. As well as auto-orientation (left display only). But if you use Windows 10 or Windows 11, you use both displays at the same time anyway. So it remains exciting to see what Gustave can do in the next versions.
