The multisports European Championships starting on Thursday in Munich are to boost sports in Germany and possibly also pave the way for another Olympic bid, according to a local official. Marion Schöne, head of Munich’s Olympiapark site where many of the events are to take place, said on Wednesday she believed that “we can leave a great legacy and I hope that the public will get involved” and can back more big events in the country, including Olympics.
