Yesterday, Klobrille’s Twitter account dropped a little bomb: what if games not included in the Xbox Game Pass catalog became playable via Xbox Cloud Gaming? In any case, this is what a series of screenshots from the official Xbox site suggested. But that wouldn’t be relevant…

Bug or strategy?

If you were browsing the pages of the official Xbox site, then perhaps you came across mentions that some major titles like Call of Duty: Vanguard, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla or the acclaimed Elden Ring. After all, no wonder: Fortnite free-to-play had received the same treatment a few months earlier.

On his Twitter account, Klobrille had relayed screenshots showing that it would soon be possible to do the same for these major titles, provided that they were previously the owner and subscribed to the Ultimate level of the Xbox Game subscription. pass. A Microsoft spokesperson immediately reacted to our colleagues at Eurogamer to shower the hopes :

We are aware of a bug that incorrectly displayed some titles available with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. We deployed a fix and it is now updated.

The explanation is succinct and not very detailed, but verifiable: the link redirecting to the game has been updated and no longer directs to the previous day’s page. Inevitably, and without falling into hasty speculation, such a bug seems crude for a company such as Microsoft. However, it remains plausible. While exclusive information is expected at the next Gamescom, can we hope to see this feature back in the spotlight?
